Mona Bruin aka Lily
We call ourselves epic foster fails as it took only a week to have her officially adopted. We changed her name to Mona Bruin. Mona because she reminds us of a friends grandma who is also tiny and doesn’t back down to anyone. Bruin is her middle name as she is from Los Angeles and we named her after the UCLA Bruins.
Needless to say we are no longer fosters or else we would have more dogs then we could count.
Thank you Little Mutts for the work you do to bring so much love into people’s lives.

Karl aka Malone
Karl (formerly Malone) is a blessing in my life. He makes me laugh every day. He is definitely the king of his domain here, keeps guard of the back yard and lets passers-by know that though he’s small in stature he has a big voice. Initially reticent, he loves to cuddle and greets family members with boundless enthusiasm and screeches of excitement. He loves to go for walks or to sit on a stool in the kitchen looking out the window. He keeps me company in my office every day and has his own executive office chair to sleep on.
Sadly, I have recently found out that he has cancer (adenocarcinoma of the anal sac) and it has spread to his lymph nodes. A final ultra-sound test was done at VCA Care and the veterinarian agreed that the cancer has spread beyond the stage of being operable without causing incontinence, discomfort and expensive chemotherapy treatments which would only prolong his misery. He is currently not in pain and is on a special veterinary-prescribed diet. He’s happy and will live out the rest of his life without invasive measures which would only cause him distress.
As long as Karl is not in pain and the quality of his life with me remains superior he will live out his days in my home as a contented and much-loved pet.

Annabelle
We absolutely love our Annabelle. She is the sweetest dog and has adjusted so well! She has definitely melted many hearts in our family. She sleeps in the strangest positions – loves being on my shoulders and her favourite is snuggling into a sweater with her face totally buried. She is definitely a lap dog and loves being cuddled most of the time.
We have a daughter who has never been a fan of dogs in general but she came out to visit and after she went home, she told me she missed Annabelle!
She is from LA for sure – she is happiest when she is outside in the sun and if she can fall asleep on the deck – she is in her glory. I just can not say enough what a difference this little girl has made in our lives!
