Autumn was your typical nervous shakey chihuahua when she first arrived in our home, but my 7 year old terrier mix adopted her as her own pup from day one. She would groom her, tuck her up against her tummy in their bed at night, and was her anchor in a crazy and cold ( she arrived from Texas during a winter cold snap) new world. The noise and bustle of my house with two kids and two other dogs confused her, and the first time my two played tug of war with a rope with all their mock growls and snarls she had to crawl under the coffee table to watch from a safe place. She had no idea how to play!
Now she leaps in to grab some rope and gets dragged around as they all yank away growling.
She is very smart, cuddly, and absolutely loves following at heel with the others to my horses as we go for a nice ride. People nearly swerve into the ditch when they see three little mutts all in a row following a horse. They do have legs!
Here are some pics of Autumn relaxing with her constant companion Peanut. They rarely go anywhere without each other.
