Cinnamon (now called Susie):
In late August we picked up Susie from her foster parent Kathi. We could tell Kathi had become attached to Susie and she was going to miss her. From the onset of the adoption process it was so clear that Susie had a grand personality too big for such a little dog. No wonder the foster was so taken with her. We were all immediately smitten with her too. It had been almost three years since we lost our previous, beloved dog and after so long, and such a large void to fill, we were ready. We knew Susie was the perfect dog for our home. It did not take long at all for Susie to fit right in. She has brought much joy and energy into our house, and it hasn’t let up to this day. Even if it’s been a few moments apart Susie greets each of us as though we’ve been away for days—she is such a grateful, happy dog. She enjoys long daily walks, and on weekends gets to explore Fish Creek Provincial Park. The daily attention she gets from the kids is unrelenting, but she loves it. Being from Palm Springs, we’ve been anticipating what Susie’s first reaction to snow would be and October 27 we were blessed (or cursed) with an early snowfall. Susie was hilarious—at first you could quite literally see she was thinking, ‘what the heck is this’ and then…pure puppy joy. She was running and bouncing around in it, and eating the snow non-stop. That was the reaction we expected from our fun, loving and sometimes mischievous little mutt. Susie is truly a joy and we thank Little Mutts for bringing Susie to us!
