It’s been about 5 months since we adopted her, we couldn’t have asked for a more loving puppy, every day that passes we’re so happy we found her through your organization.
As you may remember, she was a special case because she came from a hoarding situation, and she was always very timid, quiet, and had shown very little signs of opening up to others and having playful behaviour, like other puppies do. However, with lots of patience, love and affection, she’s opened up a lot with us. She’s still a little jumpy from time to time if she hears a loud noise, but she loves to cuddle and have her belly rubbed – sleeping belly up is her favourite!
Whenever my husband and I come home now, she receives us like all loving puppies do, she’s super excited, wagging her tail and jumping up and down to greet us. She loves napping throughout the day, and she likes it when we chase her around the tree in our back yard. She’s still a little timid around strangers but she’s come a long way from when we first adopted her, she’s had a lot of progress for the 5 months that we’ve had her, I’d say that giving her a hair cut really helped her come out of her shell because she could finally see everything around her!
One thing we have noticed about her is that she really likes to get active at nights, once all the lights are off, that’s when she gets the most playful, but I guess it’s all just part of her pup-personality. We’re definitely having fun getting to know her as she opens up more with us.
Cookie is a perfect example about how loving puppies can be if they’re given the chance at a loving home. Adopting her has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.
