I now have 3 dogs!
It never started out to be my plan! ...but if you foster often enough...you can end up with 3 !!
I fostered Jigs in June & we had fallen in love with him, he was sweet sweet sweet, but was pretty nervous about his new life. My one dog Sam had been tortured in his previous life, was very “ insecure” and for he & Jigs it was love at first sight. I loved seeing them wrestle, play all day, have some spats, but always worked them out.
I walked him miles trying to get him to do his business, morning, afternoon, night. If he didn’t go at 10 pm, I’d take him out at midnight, if he didn’t go then I’d take him at out 3 am. I had better luck on a walk than in the back yard even though I had gotten some tree stumps, left them by the front walk so other dogs could ***season *** them. He seemed more likely to go on a walk, but no guarantees.
We had him for 2 months when he was adopted by a family, I cried when he left, but knew he was in a good home. Well that deal fell apart... family hardships and they couldn’t’ keep him, so he was back in our home and again, very nervous being in a new place yet again.
It didn’t take long for he & Sam to be joined at the hip. One was never without the other. I could hear them pounding up & down the stairs, just always up to something, our house was like a party. How could we let him go again?
But 3, I was scared to even bring it up with Greg. It sounded so extreme to me...3 dogs, but Greg brought it up one night, the boys were just such a perfect matched set.
And now he is ours !!!!
I love him more everyday and I tell him all the time that’s he never has to move again, he’s ours!!
It’s a love story all around.
I would say to anyone...don’t hesitate to get a second dog...it is a joy to see them in such a natural state...they are pack animals & are never bored.
Jigs--we are absolutely in love :)
