I just wanted to send along a note about Sandy (now Dixi), who I adopted
from your organization on January 1st 2010. Dixi is a sweet natured little
girl who obviously went through something very traumatic. At first, she
didn't even like me to pet her from above. She would cower and roll on her
back and pee. She is slowly coming along and has made some great
improvements in the last month and a half. She has never nipped at me
although her foster mom said she might and is learning to like car rides
when previously, she would shake and run away from the car. I'm sure she
thought she had died and gone to heaven upon realizing that she gets to eat
homemade meat, rice and veggie meals almost daily. Not to mention all the
yummy and healthy meat treats she gets! Although she is still quite timid at
times, she is really enjoying her dog agility classes and running outside
with our other dog KD. And let me tell you, she is FAST!!! But she only
wants to please and comes as soon as I call her back to me. We hope to enrol
her in a doggy play group along with her sister KD in the next few weeks
because KD isn't always the most social dog. And I have to tell you that she
is so good with my bunny! She just sniffs him and leaves him be which is
just fine by BunBun. So, here are some pictures of my little shadow
enjoying her new home. Thank you for making it possible for her to come to
live with us!
